Martin O'Neill: If Ciaran Clark misses next Tuesday "then it might be a bit of a concern"

Manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed James McCarthy and Ciaran Clark will sit out Ireland's Euro 2016 warm up with Netherlands tomorrow.

Neither player has trained fully this week and O'Neill says that if Aston Villa defender Clark doesn't feature against Belarus in Cork next week he could miss out on the tournament.

The deadline to name squads is midnight on Tuesday, May 31st.

"I'd like to give Ciaran Clark a few extra days as well," said the manager at today's press conference.

"He might be fit for Tuesday. But if he doesn't play Tuesday then it might be a bit a concern."

O'Neill confirmed that John O'Shea will definitely play against the Netherlands because "he needs the game" and feels the Dutch are a good test for the Boys in Green as they sharpen up for Euro 2016.
