Mick Wallace slams FAI Cup Final teams for entering pitch before ladies game had ended

Mick Wallace has called out the players of Cork City and Dundalk, who began warming up on the pitch before the ladies cup final had ended on Sunday afternoon.

The game was incredibly tense and full of drama, as late equalisers in normal time and then again in extra time meant that the game went to penalties, but with the men's final set to start shortly, players from both sides began warming up on the pitch.

The TD for Wexford and club chairman of Wexford Youths told The Independent that their actions were "disrespectful" and that "it shouldn't have happened".

"It wouldn't have hurt anyone to hold off on the senior match and wait for the shoot-out to finish," said Wallace. "It's disappointing. It wouldn't have been the first soccer match to have ever been delayed. I understand that they were under pressure for time, but it was disrespectful all the same".

Wallace wasn't the only one disappointed in their actions, as RTE commentator Ger Canning similarly stated that the men should have waited for the end of the previous game before starting to warm up
