Paddy Mulligan: Arsenal have quality to take title, but are they ready for the mental battle?

Ex-Ireland full-back Paddy Mulligan believes Arsenal have the quality to walk away with the Premier League title.

But their propensity to flatter to deceive at times could cost them.

Back in the mix after beating leaders Leicester City yesterday in the dying seconds, Paddy believes extracting consistently top level performances from their star players is the main challenge for Arsene Wenger.

"The trick is to get Arsenal performing. If you get them performing, they'll win the league. You could have said that at the start of the season that if Arsenal perform to the level, that sometimes they flatter to deceive, and if they can get back playing as well as they possibly can, the quality is there," he said.

"Are they psychologically ready for the battle because there is going to be a battle over these next 12 games, and it's depending on who's going to be the strongest mentally. Forget about your skill factor and everything else. If you're strong enough mentally to go and take on the challenge, you're going to have a great challenge. That's why I think Spurs just might fail."

Paddy reviewed all the big games and looked ahead to his former club Chelsea's Champions League first leg against PSG on the Rewind podcast:
