West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis is often beaten with the long ball stick in the wake of his time at Stoke City.
But those who have spent time around him, always have good things to say about him.
Pat Nevin is no different and he had a brilliant anecdote on Off The Ball tonight to prove what a good guy Pulis is.
"I had a dinner with him at the World Cup over in Rio de Janeiro. He was fabulous with the people there. He entirely held court the whole time," he said.
"It wasn't a team. It was a bunch of people who were backstage staff - radio guys and radio girls - and he was brilliant. I had to try and keep up with him and regale with a few stories myself. But he was fantastic and I'll tell you a wee story which I haven't told anyone else: At the end of the dinner, he would say 'right now, whiskey now, lads a bit of champagne now' and I grabbed him and said 'Tony, these people can't afford it. That's really pushing it mate' and he goes, 'What are you talking about? I'm paying'. And he paid for everyone and everything."
Meanwhile, Pat also reviewed the weekend's Premier League and spoke of how impressed he was by Chelsea's new signing Pedro, who has got off to a fantastic start by scoring and creating goals against West Brom on Sunday.
And Pat believes the signing will benefit another one Chelsea's attacking players.
"Hazard now will now get more of the ball because they now can't now put two and three men on him because there's another guy on the other side," he said, re-emphasising a past point about having a front three to rival the elite European clubs.
Pat also believes that Wayne Rooney is "slightly wasted" as the lone centre-forward at Manchester United as he went another game without scoring in the Saturday kick-off against Newcastle United at Old Trafford.
