PIC: Ever seen this photo of a fresh-faced young Rafa Benitez at Real Madrid in the 90s?

Like many people, we want to work out why Real Madrid are turning to Rafa Benitez as their next manager.

We'll try to find that out on Off The Ball tonight.

But we do know the former Liverpool manager has an affinity with the Madrid club. A native of the city, he played for Real Madrid's reserves during his playing career and also managed the Real Madrid B team in the '90s.

He was also assistant to current Spain boss (and a former Champions League-winning Real Madrid manager) Vicente Del Bosque at the Santiago Bernabeu when the World Cup winner briefly served as caretaker at the end of the 1993-94 season.
