PIC: Young football fan shares his crutches so he and his friend can both watch a match

The image of Santiago Fretes and his friend watching a football match in Argentina has gone viral after it was shared on Twitter by his mother, Sabrina.

'Santi' is a huge football fan, and as his mother told Calrín, he has never let the fact that he was born with only one leg stop him from playing the game he loves.

He has always been a huge fan of Racing Club de Avellaneda, and has even been part of the club thanks to their Racing Integrado campaign, aimed at giving children with disabilities the opportunity to get involved in sports.

On the weekend, as he was watching his idol, the former Inter Milan and Real Zaragoza star Diego Milito, play his last game for Racing Club, both he and his friend were struggling to see over the barriers at the side of the pitch.

Santi decided then to use one of his crutches in order to boost himself up high enough so that he could watch the game unfold, and gave a loan of the other one to his friend so that neither of them would miss any of the action.

Speaking to El Argentino Zona Norte, Santi said "I was watching Milito on the pitch and my friend couldn't reach the barrier, he was jumping up to try and see over. So then I gave him one of my crutches so he could reach, I always use them to boost myself up."

His mother added that the two kids don't know each other all that well, but they tend to stand in that area as they watch the game unfold, or kick a ball about amongst themselves.

"I was moved [by Santi's gesture] so I took the photo. At the same time I thought 'careful with the crutches, they're the only pair we've got!".

Sabrina also stated that Santi was due to get a prosthesis, but after political change in the country and the election of a new president, everything is now up in the air and he has once again been left with nothing.

However, the touching image of the two boys watching the game has since gone viral, and Santi has been interviewed on national television and radio in Argentina, which may well help to bring his story to the forefront.
