Premier League Round-Up: Swansea cruise past hapless Newcastle

Southampton were given a lesson in complacency by Everton in the day's early kick-off thanks to a brace from Belgian talisman Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley, the Toffees running out 3-0 winners there.

Elsewhere there were goals and plenty of them in the day's 3pm kick-offs.

We begin at White Hart Lane where Tottenham surrendered a two-goal lead to Stoke City to give the Potters a share of the points, the final score there was 2-2.

Eric Dier handed the home side the lead on 19 minutes with a headed goal from Christian Eriksen's corner and the points looked all but wrapped up after Nacer Chadli's strike on the stroke of half-time.

Not like a Mark Hughes side to roll over and die, however, and Marko Arnautovic's penalty in the 78th minute gave the side a lifeline heading into the final 10 minutes.

A lot has been made of the volume of former Barcelona players now in the Stoke City ranks, none more so than their latest signing, Xherdan Shaqiri, but it was Mame Biram Diouf who popped up on 83 minutes to give their side a well deserved point.

Next to the Liberty Stadium, where Swansea enjoyed a comprehensive 2-0 win over Steve McClaren's Newcastle.

Bafétimbi Gomis gave the Welsh side the lead inside ten minutes, a pinpoint pass from Jonjo Shelvey gave the Frenchman the time to round the 'keeper and roll the ball home.

Daryl Janmaat didn't help the Newcastle cause when he picked up two yellow cards in the space of 23 minutes and went for an early bath.

Andre Ayew continued his good form at Swansea and after scoring on his debut last week and secured the points on 52 minutes.

Dick Advocaat may have inspired some artwork in the Stadium of Light, but it looks like he is yet to inspire his players, as they lost 3-1 to visiting Norwich.

The supposed lack of attacking options in the Norwich ranks wasn't visible today as it took only 26 minutes for Russell Martin to break the deadlock for the away side.

12 minutes later, Steven Whittaker doubled his sides advantage and a cheeky one-two with Ireland's Wes Hoolahan gave him the space to fire home.

Nathan Redmond wrapped up the points on the hour mark before an 88th minute consolation from Sunderland debutant Duncan Watmore rounded off the goals.

Unlike Advocaat, Claudio Ranieri has enjoyed a great start to the campaign with Leicester City and he showed again why he was the right appointment.

It finished Leicester 2-1 West Ham at the Boleyn ground, with two goals in 11 minutes the hammer-blow to the London side.

Shinji Okazaki opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark after he was given a second chance at a well-saved volley.

Next it was the turn of Riyad Mahrez to add to Leicester's advantage, an emphatic finish from just inside the area.

Dimitri Payet gave the Hammers a lifeline on 55 minutes with an expert finish but it wasn't enough to inspire a West Ham comeback.

Adrian was given his marching orders in added time as he was shown a red card for a high challenge while contesting a corner.

Watford and West Brom finished scoreless in the last of the 3pm kick-offs, Odion Ighalo had the hosts' best chance but put a diving header wide from six yards.
