Real Madrid boss says Karim Benzema has his 'total support' over sextape scandal

Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez has revealed that the club are fully behind French striker Karim Benzema who is currently being investigated for his involvement in a sextape scandal.

Benzema was subjected to a formal judicial process earlier this week in relation to an alleged attempt to blackmail Mathieu Valbuena with the use of a sextape.

Speaking in reaction to the accusations against his player, Benitez said he completely supports the injured Benzema, who will not be available to play against Sevilla tomorrow due to an ongoing hamstring issue which has sidelined him for the last five games:

'I have spoken to him but as he is not going to play I don’t want to talk too much about it. He has my total support. I hope he gets fit quickly and can get back to enjoying playing on the pitch. He is in the final part of his recovery and we have decided to leave him out so that he can be 100 percent and return fresh. He is in good spirits.'

Real are joint table leaders of La Liga alongside Barcelona and tomorrow's game marks the last game of the league before the international break.
