Report: Harry Kane fails to attend Tottenham training

Tottenham Hotspur club captain Harry Kane has reportedly not shown up to pre-season training amid mounting speculation around his future at the club.

The 28-year-old indicated his desire to leave Spurs earlier this summer with Manchester City reported to be the leading contenders for his signature.

Now, according to Sky Sports, the 28-year-old was due back at Spurs training this morning after a short holiday but failed to report to the club as planned.

Kane is reportedly valued at upwards of £120m and Tottenham are keen to keep him despite the striker believing he has a gentleman's agreement with Daniel Levy that will allow him to leave the club.

The development is a significant blow to new Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo as he prepares his squad for the upcoming Premier League season.

Speaking in mid-July, the Portuguese manager appeared confident that Kane would remain within his squad.

"Harry is our player, period," Nuno said, "No need to talk about anything else.

"Now is the moment for Harry to recover his energy, to rest. When he comes again we will have time to speak.

"We will have good conversations, but now is the moment for Harry to rest and to prepare for what’s coming, and I’m looking forward to him joining the group and start working together."

Nuno regards Kane as "one of the best players in the world", adding, "I have no doubts in my mind. I have no doubts.

"What I wish is for Harry to recover well, to have a good rest and when he arrives he will feel that everyone of us has to commit ourselves to become better.

"We are very ambitious, we are ambitious people and we want to do it well and no doubts on Harry on that."
