Richard Dunne picks two Irish players in his Premier League XI made up of teammates

Former Ireland international Richard Dunne has named his best Premier League team made up of former teammates.

The 36-year-old was speaking to the Premier League about the team and named two Irish teammates in his XI. Dunne played with both Shay Given and Robbie Keane at Aston Villa during the 2011-12 season.

Speaking about the Irish goalkeeper, Dunne said; "he's got a very big presence around the goal and he's constantly communicating with the defence." Keane only joined Villa for a handful of games at the start of 2012, but Dunne was impressed by what he saw. "Keane came to Villa on loan for a few months. He was brilliant. The club and the team were struggling at the time. I think he was Player of the Month for two months in a row."

Dunne played for four Premier League teams in his career and players from all four teams are included in his best XI. Everton and Queens Park Rangers supply one player each. Three Manchester City players make the team but Aston Villa make up more than half of Dunne's XI with six players

Richard Dunne's Premier League 11: Shay Given, Pablo Zabaleta, James Collins, Sylvain Distin, Michael Ball, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Stiliyan Petrov, James Milner, Stewart Downing, Robbie Keane, Charlie Austin.
