Samir Nasri is facing an investigation after receiving an IV drip in the United States

Manchester City's Samir Nasri is facing an investigation in Spain for potentially breaching anti-doping guidelines after receiving an IV drip in the United States.

The Spanish Agency for Health Protection (AEPSAD) in Sport is launching the investigation after the clinic he received the treatment at posted a photo afterwards.

The "Drip Doctors" provide IV vitamin therapy, weight loss, anti-aging, hormone replacement, vitamin booster shots, cosmetic enhancements and concierge treatments, according to their website.

The player is currently on loan at the Spanish club from Man City but was in America during the Christmas break.

ESPN are reporting that neither the clinic, Manchester City nor Sevilla were willing to comment on the situation.

The Spanish agency stated on its official twitter account that "AEPSAD has initiated the appropriate steps to clarify what treatment was received by the player Samir Nasri.''

Furthermore, ESPN added that "WADA's prohibited list includes: 'Intravenous infusions and/or injections of more than 50ml per 6 hour period, except for those legitimately received in the course of hospital admissions, surgical procedures or clinical investigations'."
