Sarri wants to stay at Chelsea

Maurizio Sarri wants to stay in charge of Chelsea for a second season.

The Italian collected the first major trophy of his managerial career last night when the Blues beat London rivals Arsenal 4-1 in the Europa League final in Baku.

Chelsea also finished third in the Premier League and reached the EFL Cup final.

Sarri's been linked to a return to Italy with Serie A champions Juventus, but was asked after last night's game if he deserves to be at Stamford Bridge for 2020.

"I think so, but it's only my opinion.

"My opinion is not enough. Now I have to speak to my club. The season is finished one hour ago. So tomorrow I will being to speak to my club, with the owner, with the director, Marina Granovskaia, I don't know.

"But we need to speak of course, like every club at the end of the season. We need to know what the club can do for me and what I can do better for the club.

"I need to speak to the club but also the club needs to speak to me. Then in a couple of days I will decide. But I have a contract, so at the moment I am talking about nothing."

"You know very well that I love the Premier League, the level of the competition, and I am lucky because I am in Chelsea, one of the best teams in the best championship in the world.

"So at the moment I am happy, but of course I want to know if the club is happy, if we can improve. It's normal I think; I have a discussion with the owner after every season with every club."

Star forward Eden Hazard looks set to leave Chelsea to join Real Madrid this summer and Sarri's paid tribute to the Belgian's professionalism this season.

"Hazard is a wonderful player, but you have to spend two, three months to understand him as a man.

"But when you are able to understand him as a man, he is a wonderful man. I knew. I knew that Eden wanted to leave, of course.

"But as I said in every press conference I want to respect his decision."
