STATS: Five damning stats from Liverpool's 2014-15 campaign

Yesterday's 6-1 defeat at Stoke as an ignominious way for Liverpool to end their season - even putting Brendan Rodgers' future in doubt - and we will be looking into the problems at Anfield on Off The Ball tonight.

Most of their squad under-performed during a desperately disappointing season - bar a couple of exceptions - and the stats from Squawka show many of them in a poor light.

Most defensive errors from a defender

It probably won't surprise Reds fans that Dejan Lovren tops the Premier League charts in this category. He made six errors, while second place in the entire league went to Martin Skrtel with five errors.

That is Titus Bramble-standard error-making.

Most defensive errors leading to a goal

While Lovren and Skrtel made many errors, not all their shortcomings led to goals. Unfortunately, Albert Moreno is joint top among Premier League defenders in this category with three mistakes leading to opposition goals.

Incredibly, his conversion rate was impressive in that way. Of his four mistakes, Squawka's stats show three led to goals.

Meanwhile, two of Lovren's errors led to goals.

Shot (in)accuracy

No Liverpool strikers made it into the Top 20 when it came to the accuracy of their shooting this season. Mario Balotelli is the highest placed Liverpool player with a rate of 56 per cent.

Perhaps, that is a bit misleading though, because that means his shooting accuracy was actually superior to the Premier League's top scorer, Sergio Aguero (54 per cent).

Conversely, the Italian has one Premier League goal to his name.

Total goals

Thanks to Daniel Sturridge's injury problems, goals were a problem and it means the departing Steven Gerrard ended up as top scorer in the league with nine.

The want-away Raheem Sterling was next with seven, with Sturridge as the highest scoring striker with four.

Passing (in)accuracy

Joe Allen was the only Liverpool player to make it into the Top 25 for passing accuracy. He managed a success rate of 88 per cent with his passing - enough to place him 22nd for players who made more than 10 league appearances.
