Stuey Byrne on the feelgood factor at Bray Wanderers

Stuart Byrne has been impressed by the early signs for Bray Wanderers at the start of the 2017 season.

With new signings and a feelgood vibe around the Carlisle Grounds, Bray have made it two wins from two in the Premier Division.

The second of those wins was a 5-3 thriller against Finn Harps which Stuey went to see on Friday night.

"They've bought some really, really good players. They've signed Aaron Greene, [Gary] McCabe has come in as well," he said on Off The Ball.

"They've got Dylan Connolly who's just getting better and better all the time. 'Bisto' Flood is an experienced player and plays up front. So they've got real potency in that front four.

"And by all means, the way they approach the game was they were always on the front foot and so too were Finn Harps, to be fair, and that's the reason why it finished 5-3.

"I would say overall, certainly they were worth their win. They were a little bit susceptible to concede goals which would be a little bit of a worry. But at this time of the season I think they're a team that are really, really looking at getting points on the board."

Stuey also outlined concerns about the head injury suffered by Finn Harps' goalkeeper in the run-up to the fourth Bray goal, saying that he would like to see "a clarification on the protocol" and believes an incident like that "should be an immediate stoppage of the game".
