Summer seems to be ripe for Pogba's Juventus au revoir

Paul Pogba has certainly become the player of the moment for Serie A leaders Juventus.

The highly-rated France international has been key as the Bianconeri build a gap to second-placed Roma, scoring the opener against Hellas Verona on Sunday.

As always on a Monday, European football writer Ben Lyttleton joined us on Off The Ball's Football Show to review the weekend results around the continent and began by focusing on Pogba's burgeoning influence.

"He's scored three in four and has been the outstanding player for Juventus who look like they are going to cruise to another title. But the subplot among all this is how long will Pogba be a Juventus player."

Pogba's agent has already spoken about a future when the 21-year-old will be plying his trade outside Serie A and Ben believes the Turin club have a maximum of a year's to get the best out of him.

"If Pogba's playing like he is now, it may well be this summer to do a deal. He's probably going to be the most expensive player to move in the next round of windows," he said, adding that the fee is likely to be in the region of €60-70M because of his age and vast potential to be the "outstanding midfielder of his generation".

Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City appear to be the only clubs on the radar according to Ben as things stand.

Ben also reviewed events in La Liga as Barcelona (fielding a consistent lineup for once) and Real Madrid all got wins with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo scoring five goals between them.
