Team 33 | Do you read football periodicals?

If you grew up following football, there's a good chance you've either been subscribed to or regularly perused the pages of football magazines.

For us on Team 33, we used to flick through numerous editions. For me, it was Match magazine at a younger age and then graduating up to FourFourTwo, while for Joe Coffey for example it was When Saturday Comes and World Soccer.

But increasingly popular in the Internet age are the physical or digital copies of football periodicals.

The most famous example is The Blizzard curated by Jonathan Wilson. But this week, Cian Roche spoke to Ally Palmer, the founder of Scottish football quarterly Nutmeg Magazine which takes an alternative and in-depth look at the game.

You can listen to the full interview with Ally on the podcast player or on iTunes as well as our chat about football publications:

Also this week, we interviewed Marian Pahars of Southampton FC fame and we also talked about the derbies and the theories about Mesut Ozil's back:

Apart from Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Arsenal Fan TV founder Robbie Lyle, recent interviews on Team 33 include former Man United cult hero Andrei Kanchelskis, former Ireland striker Niall Quinn, ex-England international Carlton Palmer, former Newcastle and Everton left back Alessandro Pistone, Chelsea legends Bobby Tambling and Paddy Mulligan, Dutch legend Johan Neeskens, ex-England striker Darius Vassell, Liverpool legend David Fairclough, former Ireland midfielder Mark Kinsella, USA captain Eric Lichaj and former Everton forward Tomasz Radzinski. Plus our in-depth chats with Tony CotonPackie BonnerNobby SolanoRon Atkinson and Alan Curbishley are still available on iTunes. You can find them all in one place by subscribing to Team 33 on iTunes.
