Team 33 | When France win the World Cup**... it'll be on an Irish-installed Luzhniki Stadium pitch

As we did on Team 33's Euro 2016 coverage, we kicked off our 2018 World Cup build up on Tuesday night with our round-by-round predictions.

According to the scientifically accurate methodology*, France will win the World Cup, beating Spain in the final - granted, our show prediction happened before Spain did their own Saipan by sacking their manager Julen Lopetegui on the eve of the tournament.

But something more concrete with an Irish flavour can be found at the Luzhniki Stadium that will host the World Cup final between whichever nations actually get there.

As our regular panelist Killian Woods pointed out after our interview with our man in Moscow, Alan Moore of Capital FM Moscow, the pitch at the Luzhniki was in fact installed by an Irish company:

Killian explains all after the Alan Moore interview at the end of this podcast:

Team 33 | When France win the World Cup**... it'll be on an Irish-installed Luzhniki Stadium pitch

00:00:00 / 00:00:00

Team 33 | "It's probably the worst group of players Russia could pick from"

Indeed, Sligo-owned SIS Pitches not only installed the pitch at the Luzhniki, they also installed the pitches at six of the 12 stadiums that will be used in Russia during the next month.

SIS Pitches also installed three training pitches at Luzhniki and specialise in natural and synthetic sports surfaces.

*Nothing scientific about it

** This could happen but it probably won't now we've jinxed them
