The Kick Off: Dundalk continue bid for European football

SOCCER

Dundalk will have to overturn a 2-1 first-leg loss as they look to continue their bid for Champions League football this season.

The Lilywhites will play host to BATE Borisov at Oriel Park tonight after grabbing a vital away goal during last week's first-leg defeat in Belarus.

Manager Stephen Kenny will be hoping that his side can build on David McMillan's away goal as they target a place in the next round of qualifiers.

Kick-off at Oriel Park is at 19:45.

Meanwhile, Celtic will travel to Iceland for the second-leg of their qualifier tie against Stjarnan.

The Hoops hold a 2-0 first-leg lead after their convincing win at Parkhead.

Kick-off there is at 20:15.

CYCLING

After the final rest day of this year's race, the Tour de France resumes today.

Stage 17 is the first of this year's Alpine stages, with the main rivals to yellow jersey holder Chris Froome running out of stages to try and reduce his lead of over three minutes.

Today's stage will feature five categorised climbs, as well as a potentially decisive downhill descent towards the end of the stage.

GAA

The Bord Gais Energy Ulster Under-21 Hurling final takes place tonight.

Derry will play host to Antrim at Owenbeg, where throw-in is at 19:30.

RACING

There's racing in Naas this evening.

The Yeomanstown Stud Dark Angel European Breeders Fund Stakes is the feature race on the card and is worth €60,000 in prize-money.

Today's seven-race Flat card gets going at 5.55pm.
