This lovely donation to an Everton fan reminds us why we love Seamus Coleman

Seamus Coleman has generously donated £5,000 to a young Everton fan from Belfast who was born with a rare genetic condition in a bid to help him see his heroes in Goodison Park.

After reading about Daire Flanagan's story online, the Ireland international promptly donated £5,000 to help get the Everton supporter who was not expected to survive long after birth.

Coleman came across Daire's story online when he spotted the fundraising campaign 'Everton supporters, help Daire on his journey' on Facebook. He sent them a message which read:

Daire Flanagan was not expected to survive beyond the first 48 hours of his life after he was born with a rare genetic condition known as Apert Syndrome. He has since defied those daunting odds and is now a happy six-year-old.
