WATCH - Andrew Omobamidele scores his first goal for Norwich

Andrew Omobamidele scored his first goal for Norwich.

Ireland's Andrew Omobamidele's star continues to rise.

Daniel Farke has been reluctant to trust the 19-year-old Cork defender this season, despite Norwich's defending being so consistently poor. Omobamidele has repeatedly proven himself for Ireland. Stephen Kenny trusts him as much as he does any other player.

And when Omobamidele has played for Norwich, he has played well.

That continued through the first half today against Leeds. Omobamidele started alongside Ozan Kabak and Grant Hanley. He made no errors and was consistent with the ball at his feet. There was one moment during the first half when he intercepted a through ball, stepped forward before recycling the ball, and then advanced into midfield.

Omobamidele saw the space and adjusted to it. He did exactly what Kenny would want him to do. He then showed his frustration when the ball wasn't fed back to him from his teammate. That's the mindset that Omobamidele plays with despite being so young.

His youth did show negatively on one occasion though. Raphinha is a very good football player. The Leeds attacker can turn the best defenders inside-out. Omobamidele found himself in space against him one-on-one. He was in the box quickly, forcing the defender to be cautious. Although he played the attacker well initially, Omobamidele went to ground too early.

The mistake made it easy for the striker to get his shot on goal off.

Fortunately, Omobamidele would only have to wait a few minutes before atoning at the other end.

Omobamidele began the play at the far side of the goal. He ran across the six-yard box and stayed detached from the defender pursuing him. When he found the pocket of space at the front post, he finished with an emphatic header. Shane Duffy is somewhere in Brighton and he's smiling as proud as proud can be.

At 19 years and 130 days, Omobamidele is now Norwich's fifth-youngest goalscorer in the Premier League. He's the youngest since Ryan Jarvis in 2005.

Ireland will be hoping to see more goals from Omobamidele, but we'll settle for him starting every week.

ANALYSIS: Manchester United's 3-0 win over Tottenham was lucky
