WATCH: Bayern Munich miss four penalties in German Cup shoot out

Bayern Munich's dream of winning the treble this season, ended last night at the hands of Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup in the Allianz Arena.

The semi final finished 1-1 after extra time with Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring for the sides.

The game went to penalties and in a shoot out reminiscent of the 2010 FAI Cup final between Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers, only two goals were scored.

Phillipp Lahm and the ever reliant Xabi Alonso both slipped taking their penalties as the ball flew over the Dortmund crossbar.

Dortmund were leading 2-0 after four penalties as Ilkay Gundogan and Sebastian Kehl scored for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak only needed to save one penalty in the shootout. He dived to his right to save the third penalty that was taken by Mario Gotze.

Bayern completed their embarrassment with goalkeeper Manuel Neuer hitting the crossbar with the fourth penalty to give Dortmund the ticket to the Berlin final.

The German Cup final will be Jurgen Klopp's last game in charge of Borussia Dortmund.

His side will face either third tier Arminia Bielefeld or Wolfsburg in the May 30th final in the Olympiastadion.
