WATCH: Paul O'Connell receives a standing ovation after one of the all-time great moments on 'A Question of Sport'

The BBC's 'A Question of Sport' has become one of the greatest shows the broadcaster has ever produced.

The show, hosted by Sue Barker, has been on the air since 1970 and allows sport stars to come on and test their knowledge spread over a variety of different sports.

Football, rugby and athletics are just a few of the areas covered and questions are pitched to guests.

On this week's edition, Ireland and Munster rugby legend Paul O'Connell was one of the panellists and received a standing ovation for an absolutely outrageous (and we mean that) answer which saw his team win points.

The task was to guess a two-word answer with a set number of letters and the answer could derive from pretty much anything to do with the world of sport.

Letters would be added to the word after every correct answer in a round. With just two (2!) letters on the board, O'Connell pulled it out of the hat with the answer: Borussia Monchengladbach.

Take a bow, Paulie.
