WATCH: St Pats' player scores from behind halfway line

St Pats' Conan Byrne hit a contender for goal-of-the-season last night, with a wonder strike from behind the halfway line.

It was one of two goals from Byrne, as his side romped home to a 4-0 win over Bohemians. And it was peach that would rival David Beckham's famous effort in 1996.

From inside his own half, the ball was slipped in front of Byrne, who took one look at the goal before unleashing a shot that cleared the head of goalkeeper Shane Supple and hit the back of the net.

It was the 31-year-old's 100th goal, and he achieved the feat in style.

Naturally, he duly earned his plaudits on social media:

Christy Fagan opened the scoring for Pats' last night, while Kurtis Byrne added another in injury time to compliment the two goals from Byrne.
