Wayne Rooney acknowledges "lots of offers on the table"

Manchester United club captain Wayne Rooney has admitted that he has many offers to consider from both English clubs and those from further afield.

It is unclear whether, the forward will remain part of the club beyond this season after a reduced role under manager Jose Mourinho this campaign.

In Wednesday night's Europa League final win over Ajax, Rooney was on hand to lift the trophy as captain but was restricted to a late cameo role.

On Thursday, the 31 year old was left out of the latest England squad.

Speaking to The Guardian, Rooney admitted that he has plenty of thinking to do, with offers from at home and abroad on the table.

"There are lots of offers on the table, both in England and abroad, and that’s what I have to decide on," he said.

"I’ve got some decisions to make now over the next few weeks so I will talk with my family and then I’ll decide. I think I have to make a decision in terms of a football decision, and that’s what I’ll do, I’ll do that the next few weeks with my family while I’m away and as soon as I know what’s going on I’m sure you will."

Among the clubs and leagues he has been linked with are his boyhood club Everton, who he left in 2004 for a move to Man United.

He has also been linked with a move to the Chinese Super League.
