Wenger admits Gunners were ‘guilty’ for not jumping with Skrtel

Arsene Wenger could not hide his frustration after Arsenal conceded a late equaliser to Liverpool in yesterday’s 2-2 Premier League draw at Anfield.

Philippe Coutinho put the Reds in front before Mathieu Debuchy equalised and Olivier Giroud gave the Gunners the lead. However, Martin Skrtel scored an equaliser deep in stoppage time.

“We are guilty, we didn’t jump at all with Skrtel on the corner,” said Wenger. “Overall it’s a fair result - but it’s a frustrating result for us.”

The Frenchman also admits Arsenal were spooked by “bad memories” from last season’s infamous thrashing by Liverpool at Anfield. He said: “I felt that we played with the handbrake a little bit.”
