Young Celtic superfan Jay Beatty scores ultimate gift from the club

Eleven year old Celtic fan, who suffers from down syndrome, was treated to a day off school this week to head to Celtic Park for an unbelievable day out with the Hoops.

Lurgan born Jay Beatty was back in Glasgow this week for the second time this year after winning the Scottish goal of the month award in January. The Celtic diehard came on at half-time during Celtic's 2-0 over Hamilton to crash home a penalty which warmed the hearts of all the fans and ultimately landed 97% of the vote.

And the brave Beatty was back in his Celtic kit on Friday for the team picture for the 2015/2016 season. He stood alongside Celtic manager Ronny Delia in the front row. The youngster from Antrim also stood for photos with some of his heroes as he lived out another dream.

Jay was last at the home of the Hoops back in March when he was presented with his goal of the month award by defender Charlie Mulgrew. Spectators chanted "Come on the Hoops" as Jay hoisted the award high above his head.

Before the game, he got the chance to meet former Celtic player Roy Keane. Jay Beatty is also an ambassador for the Celtic's foundation’s 'Ability Counts' programme that offers weekly coaching and initiatives to develop inclusion, diversity and friendship between children.
