Sheedy to stay on with Tipp for 2020

All Ireland winning manager Liam Sheedy will be in the hot seat for the Premier County next season.

The 49-year-old made a winning return to management last season by guiding his county to All Ireland glory against Kilkenny in August.

Sheedy was expected to stay on but the news will still come as a relief to Tipp supporters, who were shocked in 2010 when the Portroe man stepped down after Tipp had lifted the Liam McCarthy Cup.

Tommy Dunne, Eamon O'Shea and Darragh Egan are expected to stay on with the coaching team as Tipp aim to win back to back All Ireland's for the first time 1965.

Tipp will begin their 2020 Munster campaign against Waterford on the weekend of May 9/10 with a match against Clare the following weekend.

They’ll have a three-week break then before playing Limerick on June 6/7 followed by a clash with Cork a week later.
