Hurling: Tipperary and Limerick to do it all again

Tipperary and Limerick will meet again in two weeks time in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship final.

Tipperary will head to the Munster Hurling final in two weeks time with four wins from four under their belt. Liam Sheedy's side showed they meant business last month when they started the Championship with a seven-point win over Cork.

The Premier County followed that with wins over Waterford and Clare before yesterday's 1-22 to 0-21 win over All Ireland champions Limerick.

Seamus Callanan scored the only goal of the game in the second half.

The only downside for Tipp was the loss of defender Cathal Barrett and Patrick "Bonnar" Maher through injury.

Barrett was forced to leave the pitch with a hamstring injury, but the injury to Maher looked a lot more serious as he was stretchered off due to a knee injury.

Limerick have two weeks to prepare for another crack at Tipperry and John Kiely's men will have home advantage. The Munster final has been set for LIT Gaelic Grounds on Sunday, June 30 at 2pm.

Tipp will be aiming to lift a Munster title for the first time since 2016 with Limerick's most recent provincial success in 2013.

Cork also progressed from the Munster Hurling Championship despite a 2-23 to 2-18 defeat to Clare, who are out of the Championship.

The Rebels have three weeks to prepare for the All-Ireland Hurling series, due to start on the weekend of 6-7 July.

John Meyler's men will face Westmeath or Laois, who meet in the final of Joe McDonagh Cup on June 30 as the curtain raiser to the Leinster final between Kilkenny and Wexford.

Dublin will also have an eye on the Joe McDonagh Cup as Mattie Kenny's side also have a three-week wait for their next outing following Saturday's win over Galway.

The Tribesmen are also out of the Championship.
