WATCH: The Sunday Paper Review with Ruaidhri O'Connor & Gavin Cooney

The Sunday Paper Review discussed Ireland's poor display to hand Wales a Grand Slam, Stephen Ward's retirement, 20 years on from Skopje and the place for online versus print journalism.

The latter subject is very close for The 42's Gavin Cooney's heart, an online sports journalist that has garnered an excellent reputation for long-form pieces during his career. Counterposed, but also on the same page with regard to safeguarding quality sports journalism, is the Irish Independent's rugby correspondent, Ruaidhri O'Connor.

Ruaidhri also had the dubious honour of covering Ireland's defeat to Wales in close quarters, as the Paper Review picked through the charred remains of a Six Nations campaign that never got started. The panel discuss the performances, in light of damning reviews for Ireland and many for Joe Schmidt.

Meanwhile, Stephen Ward has announced his international retirement - we discuss his on-pitch contributions. With the Ireland matches due to come this month, we also look at David Sneyd's piece into the nightmare in Skopje, twenty years on. Mick McCarthy will be looking to learn from history as he takes his new charges to Gibraltar.
