'For now, the Balotelli fairytale is not heading for a happy ending'

At some time, you have to start to arrive at a point where you've got to think the hype was never justified.

This week on Team 33, we wanted to focus on one of the hardest players to pin down.

Mario Balotelli has it all on paper to be one of the best players in the world - at least from my point of view - given his shooting ability, height, pace, power and technique - but has been let down by his attitude.

But what does the future hold for the Italy international as it seems likely that the very top clubs will eschew his signature when he does leave Liverpool?

We discussed his development on this week's show and also spoke to football biographer Luca Caioli, who has written a new book about the player to follow works about Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.

He talked about Balotelli's childhood and the difficulties he faced, while he also touched on whether he can pave the way for future non-white players to have an easier time of it in Italian football from a societal standpoint.

And Caioli also gave his take on events on the pitch as Balotelli's career continues to defy the early hype.
