'There was three flashboys up front but they're all working very hard' | The burgeoning PSG spirit

For years, PSG have been accused of having a suspect attitude but that is not the case any longer, according to Brian Kerr and Niall Quinn.

Both men praised the work-rate of the team after their comfortable 3-0 win over RB Leipzig in Tuesday's Champions League semi-final.

"There was three flash boys up front but they're all working very hard, I've not seen Neymar work like that before," Kerr said.

"They started the game at a brisk pace, they disturbed the normal style of play of Leipzig and the pressed them high up the pitch."

Neymar was praised for his leadership during the comeback against Atalanta in the previous round and the Brazilian led from the front once again.

The 28-year-old provided a delicious assist for Angel Di Maria to tuck away the second that sent PSG on their way.

That win over Atalanta gave the side a newfound belief and camaraderie, according to Quinn.

"It's amazing what two or three minutes [of football] can do for a team in this competition," the former Ireland striker said.

"They don't need to be asked a second time now, they're right on it and when you see that there Neymar playing the type of team play that he showed tonight you know they're in a better place."

PSG's frailties in recent seasons are well documented and may well have proven to be a mental block in the past. That makes this disciplined and organised performance all the more impressive and could mark a turning point in the club's fortunes.

The past two results will spur the team on and with Neymar, Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe singing from the same hymn sheet they will be confident heading into Sunday's final in Lisbon.

Di Maria was singled out for praise by Quinn who felt the Argentine was magnificent throughout the game.

"I have to say that man there Di Maria was the star of the show tonight. I thought he really stepped up. His work rate as we know is always great. The distribution, the type of balls he put in time and time again, as Brian says they could have had a cricket score."

"Neymar is probably wondering how he hasn't got a hat-trick."

The French giants will face a stern test in the final and could potentially face Bayern Munich, who have been in frightening form since the return to play.

Should Neymar and co manage to take that team spirit into the final they will have every chance of lifting the club's first European Cup.
