Andy McEntee: "We pay the ultimate price"

Meath manager Andy McEntee couldn't hide his disappointment after his side's controversial loss to Tyrone after extra-time on Saturday.

A late Cathal McShane point for Tyrone brought the sides level deep into injury time - forcing extra time in Navan.

Meath trailed by five points in extra-time but rallied late on with points from Cillian O'Sullivan, Thomas O'Reilly, Shane Glynn and Donal Lenihan but they came up just short at the death.

It finished 2-14 to 0-19 in favour of the Red Hand and asked by Off the Ball's Máire Treasa Ní Cheallaigh if he was emotional after the game, McEntee said: "That's fair enough - that's a fair comment. Where do we go now? Where do we go now? We have to wait until next January before we play another bloody game - that's the killer!

"We had the same with Waterford last week but they've another game next week. They have a chance to put it right next week - we don't. So, we pay the ultimate price!" he added.

Tyrone join Waterford, Kildare, Mayo, Offaly, Cavan and Armagh in Round 2 of the All-Ireland qualifiers.
