Conor Murray on the Grand Slam: "It's something a lot of fellas in the squad haven't done"

Conor Murray is desperate to join Rory Best and Rob Kearney as a 6 Nations Grand Slam winner and is eager to capitalise on the opportunity at Twickenham this weekend.

Having amassed an insurmountable lead heading into the ultimate round of the Championship - the Irish scrum-half wants to complete the clean-sweep and join the Irish rugby heroes from 1947 and 2009.

Despite being a member of the winning 6 Nations Championship sides of 2014 and 2015 - the Munster stalwart stressed the job isn't done and there will be no complaceny heading to the English capital on Saturday.

"It's something a lot of fellas in the squad haven't done. I think it's only Rob and Rory that are left that have done a slam and we can start talking about it now because that's what is in front of us," he told the media on Monday.

Joe Schmidt's side head to Twickenham as Champions and Murray believes

"It was a bit of a weird feeling on Saturday evening watching the England game and knowing that we had effectively won it. I think just by people's reactions - obviously we said well done to each other but there's something more, something more that we want and that's going to be the focus for us.

"Yeah, to be champions going into the last round - you've got to take confidence from that. That's happened for a reason - we've worked really hard for that and that will give us confidence going into this week," he added.
