OTB AM SPORTS ROUND-UP | This morning's papers, Egypt v Rome & Ger's hot tips

If nothing else, Tuesday night was a victory for classicists everywhere. They are a vicious bunch, and one of the longest-running historical beefs has been over which reigns supreme: Ancient Egypt or Ancient Rome? Well, Mo Salah put one up for Tutankhamun to leave Romulus and Remus crying into their wolf's milk.

Pat Nevin - not unfamiliar with the arts himself - joined Ger and Máire Treasa Ní Cheallaigh on the line to talk through the magical European night at Anfield©. Pat also went through the motions before Real Madrid's comfortable two-leg victory over Bayern Munich. Sales of Madrid shirts might be expected to skyrocket in both Manchester and the blue half of Liverpool prior to 26th May.

John Duggan was in studio to talk Punchestown and whether ludicrously wealthy Gordon Elliott or staggeringly rich Willie Mullins will prevail in the trainer's championship. John also talked us through the chaos of the Champion Novice Chase yesterday, where Paul Townend veered off course to throw the race into disarray. And if it is bizarre horse races you are looking for, then I can't recommend this little beauty highly enough. John also gave us his tips for today.

Mike Quirke joined to discuss GAA potentially coming in kicking and screaming into the 21st century, with the prospect of streaming bespoke games. He also talked about a refreshing new honesty amongst players in less-fancied teams in backing themselves to do well. That's not very Irish at all - string them up!
